Teach Pendant Programming (TPP) (3 Days)

Jogging of the robot, and the planning of programs, modification in TPP, and backing up of programs will be emphasized during the three days of training. The course overview is as follows:

  • Instruction on Set-Up of Tool Frame

RouterWare and Teach Pendant Programming (5 Days)

iR Calibration Tools (3 Days)

This training course provides the detailed instruction and procedures necessary for the participant to implement and maintain the DRS/FANUC System iR Calibration Tools. The course overview is as follows:

  • Payload Setting
  • Define a tool center point with TCP Set
  • Maintain / recover tool center point with TCP Shift (TCP Calibration)
  • Review of user frames
  • Setup and usage of Frame Shift (CellCal/CellFinder)
  • Using Master Recovery

Prerequisite:

  • Students are required to take the DRS Basic Teach Pendant Programming Class or have equivalent experience prior to attending this class.

TrimPro /HandlingPro Offline Programming (5 Days)

This training course provides the detailed instruction and procedures necessary for the participant to utilize the TrimPro / HandlingPro offline robot programming package. The course overview is as follows:

  • Create a work cell with a virtual robot, end of arm tooling, fixture, and a part.
  • Jog the robot in the virtual world
  • Move the robot to specific points on the part in the virtual world.
  • Create offline teach pendant programs utilizing CAD-to-path (automatic path generation)..
  • Transfer offline programs to a real robot and run programs on real robot.

Prerequisite:

  • Students are required to take the DRS Basic Teach Pendant Programming Class and/or have equivalent experience prior to attending this class.
  • Each student is required to bring to class:
    • A PC with TrimPro loaded on it. This PC should have the following configuration:
      • Windows 10, 8.1, 7, (32-bit and 64-bit) 64-bit recommended
      • AMD Athlon 64 3200+, Pentium IV 2.4 Ghz Core (TM) 2 Quad or higher recommended
      • 1 GB RAM
      • 1 GB free hard disk space 4GB recommended
      • 1 Processor Speed 2.4 Ghz
      • 512 MB hardware supported OpenGL video card with 1280 x 1024 video resolution and 24-bit color depth
      • Ethernet card
      • 32X CD-ROM
      • USB port
    • An external two-button mouse
    • An external power supply

  • Robot Electrical Maintenance (3 Days)

    This course covers Controller Maintenance and trouble shooting of the FANUC R-J3 controller. It is designed for maintenance personnel who are responsible for installing and maintaining the robot and controller.

    This course covers the task and procedures necessary to:

    • Set-up and configure robot I/O
    • Troubleshoot the robot and controller using error codes, LEDs, and diagnostic procedures in the technical manual.
    • Remove and replace controller parts.
    • Set-up and install the controller.
    • Load software to the extent required for maintenance purposes.
    • Master the robot.
    • Recommended safety procedures.

    In addition to presentations and demos the course offers a series of lab exercises for the student to complete. Lab exercises relate directly to the classroom and are intended to reinforce what the student has learned through hands-on activities.

    Upon successful completion of the course the student can troubleshoot errors, and maintain the robot and controller using the available documentation and recommended tools and test equipment.

    Robot Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance (5 days)

    This hands-on course provides the detailed instruction and procedures necessary for the participant to have a good understanding of basic robot maintenance, in addition to the Electrical Maintenance class as described earlier. Upon successful completion of this course, the student can perform disassembly, mechanical repair, test and adjustment of the robot mechanical unit. This course is recommended for mechanical maintenance technicians or other persons responsible for mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance and repair.

    Students completing this course will be able to:

    • Diagnose robot mechanical problems to the component level
    • Replace mechanical components on the robot
    • Perform adjustments on the robot
    • Perform periodic maintenance on the mechanical unit

    Recommended safety procedures are integrated into all training exercises. In addition to presentations and demonstrations, this course offers a series of lab exercises for the student to complete. Lab exercises relate directly to the classroom presentations and are intended to reinforce what the student has learned through actual hands-on experience.

    Intensifier Maintenance (3 Days)

    In order to insure optimum operation of the Intensifier and related systems, trained personnel is needed. Due to the extremely close tolerances that must be held while using water intensification systems, specific maintenance techniques and procedures need to be followed to guarantee proper operation. The training program is specifically designed for service personnel and will cover the complete tear down of the intensifier system. The first day will cover the general operation of the intensifier and its related components through videos and handouts. The second and third days will include total hands on experience. The course overview is as follows:
